Nusa Dua either refers to the entire eastern side of the Bukit Peninsula at the southern tip of Bali, or it more commonly refers to the purpose-built, gated and beautifully maintained tourist enclave (Kawasan Pariwisata – Tourism District) at the southeast side of this peninsula. Nusa Dua is home to some of the most exclusive international hotel brands in the world, including St Regis. All of these hotels are unobtrusively built to strict environmental covenants and contains the most popular golf course in Bali and the main convention centre on the island. The beaches at Nusa Dua are glorious – white sand, deep, long and, being reef-protected) very safe for swimming and largely devoid of sellers and hawkers. There is also a public beach here Pantai Geger/Geger Beach. This is the best place to head to if you are not staying at Nusa Dua

Padang Padang is down in the south of the island on the Bukit Peninsula on the way to Uluwatu. Padang Padang means “green grass” and this well-known surfing spot is home to the annual Rip Curl Cup Invitational held between July and August.Padang Padang lies beneath a bridge and is visible from the road, so you can check to see if the surf is working. Padang Padang is usually only good for surfing in the dry season when there are big swells, but when the conditions are right, it’s really pumping!
Officially known as Pura Luhur Uluwatu (yes, that’s the real name: “Luhur” means “something of divine origin” while “Uluwatu” can be broken into “ulu” which means “land’s end” and “watu” means “rock” in the old language). Nonetheless, merely mentioning Uluwatu will get you here in no time.
